My work is essentially about the visual influences and experiences of travel and places.

The San Francisco series started in 2005 when I first visited the city and is ongoing. I am interested in the eclectic make up of the cities architecture from its colonialist past to its modern low rise, quake proof urban developments and the contradictions they present.

I have constructed the paintings with reference to how the city has been constructed, deconstructed and constructed again by working instinctively with layer upon layer.
