About me

I live and work in Sheffield in the North of England.

Having spent most of my career working commercially, now I paint for myself exclusively.

I have completed many commissions for private clients and I have always kept a studio to develop my painting.

I work in oil on canvass and mixed media on paper and board. All works are wall hanging.

My paintings are mostly concerned with a sense of place. I try to capture the essence of the city , town or landscape by constructing and deconstructing the image and the surface.

1978 - 1979 Wolverhampton Polytechnic, Art & Design Foundation

1979 - 1982 Sheffield City Polytechnic, Fine Art Painting - 1st Class Honours

1982 - 1984 Studio holder at Yorkshire Art Space Society

1983 - 1996 Part time lecturer in Art & Design

1997 - 1998 Studio holder at Yorkshire Art Space Society. Started working as freelance illustrator

1998 - 2004 Worked as freelance illustrator and ran own tile illustration business.

2005 - present Continue to develop own work in Sheffield base studio at ‘'Bloc Space'.
